What is Corian®?

A. Corian® is a brand name of an acrylic solid surface product invented by the DuPont Corporation over 40 years ago. It leads this industry in the number of colors, design, and style. It is recognized as a premium and versatile product by fabricators, designers and architects.
The make-up consist of natural minerals, natural colorants & acrylics.

How do I clean Corian®?

A.

Day to day cleaning of most Dirt & Residue... Use warm soapy water or ammonia based cleanser. Rinse and wipe dry.( Do not use window cleaners )

How do I Prevent hard-water marks?

A.

Wipe countertop dry after spills or cleaning.

Q.

How do I REMOVE Hard-water marks?

A.

Use an Over-the-counter cleaner specially formulated for hard water marks.

Timeline for Templates & Installs

A.

 Vermont Solid Surface normally can template within 5 business days, and Installs usually can happen within 10 business days after template.
Should you need a quick turn-around time, have your dealer call Vermont Solid Surface to discuss your time-frame.

What is the ETemplate® System?

A.

 ETemplate® is a state-of-the-art templating system that eliminates the need for cardboard, plastic, or wood templates. It works by taking digital photos and converting the data into a usable form providing the measurements for our CNC Router. 
As of May, 2010, Vermont Solid Surface has fabricated over 8000 jobs using this system, and saved thousands of pounds of cardboard entering the land fills, and we are certain many trees as well.
This is another way we strive to be as "Green" as we can, for us and future generations.

Where else can I use Corian®?

A.

 Residentially, Corian® is most commonly used for countertops, vanity tops and tub & shower surrounds.
Commercially, Corian® is used in all applications that a practical, clean, and beautiful surface material is needed. It is highly recommended in Hospitals because of its Clean, Seamless, Nonporous and Durable characteristics. It is a product that is limited only by your imagination.

How do I properly clean my Corian® Sink?

A.

 Rinse it well after removing dishes.
Remove stains by using an abrasive cleaner like Comet® or Ajax®. Scrub with a green Scotch Brite® pad, and Rinse with sponge and water. If your sink is badly stained, it will require more scrubbing. Do Not Worry. CORIAN® Loves Abrasives!!

Are there any other options for Seamless Sinks to be used with Corian®?

Does Corian® Stain? 

A.

 Corian® is non-porous, so stains are only on the surface and can be removed by using the proper cleaning products like Comet® with a green Scotch Brite® pad.

Does Corian® Fade over time?

A.

Corian® is extremely U.V. stable. It passes ANSI/ICPA SS-1-2001 test for color fastness.

Q.

 What about Scratches?

A.

Corian® can be renewed. Since the color runs all the way through, marks and scratches can be removed easily to restore DuPont Corian® to its original appearance.

Q.

What about Food Safety?

A.

 DuPont Corian® is non-porous so it meets NSF/ANSI Standard 51 Certified for food contact. Bacteria cannot penetrate into the product. To remove surface bacteria, use a solution of water and bleach, and towel dry.

Corian® and the Environment?

A.

 DuPont Corian® and its adhesives and sealants are low VOC and are nontoxic and non-allergenic to humans. DuPont Corian® is GREENGUARD® Indoor Air Quality Certified.
